FOURTH GRADE SELF PORTRAITS

The work of American Pop artist, Roy Lichtenstein, served as inspiration for fourth grade self-portraits. Lichtenstein, who rose to popularity during the 1960's was probably best known for his large comic-strip like paintings.

For this project students used photographs taken in class to create a line drawing of themselves. Then after discussing Lichtenstein and characteristics of Pop Art, such as bright colors, bold black outlines and ben day dots the students set to work finishing their portraits.

Do you see anyone you recognize ????
